ಡಾರ್ಲಿಂಗ್ ಕೃಷ್ಣ-ಮಿಲನಾ ನಾಗರಾಜ್ ಕಾಂಬಿನೇಷನ್ ಎಂದಾಗ ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಸ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆ ಹುಟ್ಟುತ್ತದೆ. ಈ ಜೋಡಿ ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ‘ಲವ್ ಮಾಕ್ಟೇಲ್’, ‘ಲವ್ ಮಾಕ್ಟೇಲ್ 2’ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಮೂಲಕ ಮೋಡಿ ಮಾಡಿದೆ. ಈಗ ಪತಿ-ಪತ್ನಿ ಆಗಿ ‘ಲವ್​ ಬರ್ಡ್ಸ್​’ನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಟ್ರೇಲರ್ ನೋಡಿ ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರು ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು. ‘ಲವ್ ಬರ್ಡ್ಸ್​’ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ವಿಮರ್ಶೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿದೆ.

ದೀಪಕ್ (ಡಾರ್ಲಿಂಗ್ ಕೃಷ್ಣ) ಸಾಫ್ಟ್​​ವೇರ್ ಇಂಜಿನಿಯರ್. ಆತನಿಗೆ ಕೈತುಂಬ ಸಂಬಳ. ಪೂಜಾ (ಮಿಲನಾ ನಾಗರಾಜ್​) ಬೂಟಿಕ್ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತಾಳೆ. ಇಬ್ಬರೂ ಭೇಟಿ ಆಗೋದಕ್ಕೆ ಮ್ಯಾಟ್ರಿಮೋನಿ ಸೈಟ್ ಕಾರಣ ಆದರೂ ಇವರದ್ದು ಒಂತರಾ ಲವ್ ಕಮ್ ಅರೇಂಜ್ ಮ್ಯಾರೇಜ್​. ಮದುವೆ ಆರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನೀರು ಬೆರೆತಂತೆ ಬೆರೆಯುವ ಈ ಜೋಡಿ ನಂತರ ನೀರು ಎಣ್ಣೆಯಂತಾಗಿ ಬಿಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಚಿಕ್ಕದಾಗಿ ಆರಂಭ ಆಗುವ ಜಗಳ ದಿನ ಕಳೆದಂತೆ ದೊಡ್ಡದಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಸಣ್ಣ ವಿಚಾರಕ್ಕೂ ಕಿತ್ತಾಟ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತದೆ. ಕೊನೆಗೆ ಈ ಜಗಳ ಹಾಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಳಿ ಹಿಂಡಿದಂತಾಗಿ ಡಿವೋರ್ಸ್​ವರೆಗೆ ತಂದು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಆಗ ಇವರು ಭೇಟಿ ಆಗೋದು ಸಂಯುಕ್ತಾ ಹೊರನಾಡು ಅವರನ್ನು. ಇವರ ಮಧ್ಯೆ ವೈಮನಸ್ಸು ಮೂಡೋಕೆ ಕಾರಣ ಏನು? ಇಬ್ಬರೂ ಬೇರೆಬೇರೆ ಆಗುತ್ತಾರಾ ಅಥವಾ ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಸಂಸಾರ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಾರಾ ಅನ್ನೋದನ್ನು ಸಿನಿಮಾದಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಡೇ ಕಣ್ತುಂಬಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು.

ಒಂದಷ್ಟು ಎಮೋಷನ್ಸ್​-ಒಂದಷ್ಟು ಹಾಸ್ಯ

ಕೃಷ್ಣ-ಮಿಲನಾ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಎಂದಾಗ ಹಾಸ್ಯ ಇದ್ದೇ ಇರುತ್ತದೆ. ‘ಲವ್​ ಬರ್ಡ್ಸ್’ ಸಿನಿಮಾದಲ್ಲೂ ಅದು ಮುಂದುವರಿದಿದೆ. ಮೊದಲಾರ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಹಾಸ್ಯ ಇದೆ. ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಮಿಲನಾ ಜತೆ ಸಾಧು ಕೋಕಿಲ, ರಂಗಾಯಣ ರಘು, ವೀಣಾ ಸುಂದರ್ ಕಾಮಿಡಿ ಪಂಚ್ ಇಷ್ಟವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಉತ್ತರ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಸೊಗಡಿನ ಮೂಲಕ ರಂಗಾಯಣ ರಘು ಗಮನ ಸೆಳೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಮಾಡರ್ನ್ ಮಂಡ್ಯ ಗೌಡ್ತಿ ಆಗಿ ವೀಣಾ ಸುಂದರ್ ಇಷ್ಟವಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಮುಖದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಯಾರಾದರೂ ನೆಗೆಟಿವ್ ಆಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರೆ ಉರಿದು ಬೀಳುವ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯಾಗಿ ಸಾಧು ಕೋಕಿಲ ಇಷ್ಟ ಆಗುತ್ತಾರೆ.

ಮೊದಲಾರ್ಧದ ಕಥೆ ಹಾಸ್ಯ, ರೊಮ್ಯಾನ್ಸ್​ ಮೇಲೆ ಸಾಗಿದರೆ ದ್ವಿತೀಯಾರ್ಧ ಕೊಂಚ ಗಂಭೀರತೆ ಪಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆ. ಗಂಭೀರತೆಯ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಭಾವನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆರೆಸುವ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ಪಿಸಿ ಶೇಖರ್. ಕ್ಲೈಮ್ಯಾಕ್ಸ್​ನಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದೆರಡು ಟ್ವಿಸ್ಟ್​​ಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರು ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ನಟನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಫುಲ್​ ಮಾರ್ಕ್ಸ್​

‘ಲವ್ ಬರ್ಡ್ಸ್’ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಕೆಲವೇ ಕೆಲವು ಪಾತ್ರಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಸಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಡಾರ್ಲಿಂಗ್ ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಿಲನಾ ನಾಗರಾಜ್ ಅವರು ಲವ್ ಬರ್ಡ್ಸ್ ಆಗಿ ಇಷ್ಟವಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅವರ ಕೆಮಿಸ್ಟ್ರಿ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿದೆ. ಸಂಯುಕ್ತಾ ಹೊರನಾಡು ದೂರಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವ ಜೋಡಿಗಳನ್ನು ಒಂದು ಮಾಡುವ ವಕೀಲೆಯಾಗಿ ಇಷ್ಟವಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಸಾಧು ಕೋಕಿಲ, ರಂಗಾಯಣ ರಘು, ವೀಣಾ ಸುಂದರ್ ಕಾಮಿಡಿ ಪಾತ್ರದ ಮೂಲಕ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಅಂಕ ಗಿಟ್ಟಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. ನಾಯಕನ ಗೆಳೆಯನ ಪಾತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಗೌರವ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಗಮನ ಸೆಳೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಉಳಿದ ವಿಚಾರಗಳು?

ಈ ಸಿನಿಮಾದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಸದಾಗಿ ಏನನ್ನೂ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುವಂತಿಲ್ಲ. ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರನ್ನು ಗಮನದಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಈ ಡ್ರಾಮಾಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಸತನವನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಬಹುದಿತ್ತು. ದ್ವಿತೀಯಾರ್ಧ ಜಾಳು ಜಾಳು ಎನಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಕಥೆಯನ್ನು ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಆಳವಾಗಿ ಕೊಂಡೊಯ್ಯಬಹುದಿತ್ತು. ಸಿನಿಮಾದ ಕೆಲವು ಕಡೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ‘ಲವ್ ಮಾಕ್ಟೇಲ್’ ಛಾಯೆ ಕಾಣಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.  ಸಿನಿಮಾದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುವ ಕೆಲವು ತಿರುವುಗಳನ್ನು ಸಿನಿಪ್ರಿಯರು ಊಹಿಸಿಬಿಡಬಹುದು. ಛಾಯಾಗ್ರಹಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಡಿ. ಶಕ್ತಿ ಶೇಖರ್ ತಮ್ಮ ಕೈಚಳಕ ತೋರಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸಿನಿಮಾದ ಅವಧಿ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಗಮನ ಹರಿಸಿದ್ದು ಖುಷಿಯ ವಿಚಾರ.

Love birds review: An entertaining take on love, marriage, and compatibility that makes some sense in the end

Love birds is different from the usual falling-in-love movies tagged with a done-to-death romantic tale ending with happily ever after.

A film that connects to real life

The good news is that Kannada filmmakers are thinking out of the box when it comes to filming subjects that connect with the audience, and Love birds is one such good example.

Most of the Kannada movies that hit the screens recently, somehow or the other connect to real-life scenarios or reflect the present lifestyle, especially that of the younger generation.

More than just falling in love

Love birds falls in this same category. At the outset, it is just another romantic drama but what makes it appealing is its essence which holds a mirror to society, especially to the youngsters who lead an independent life financially but falter in their personal relationships.

Though India, on record, has the lowest divorce rate in the world at less than one percent, the reality is alarming.

Many reports have been suggesting that divorce cases are increasing every year and the main reasons behind this is compatibility factor, among others.

Indian cinema, especially those in the commercial space, had been focusing heavily on the romantic side, which in the filmy world is referred to as “falling in love”, and almost totally ignoring what happens thereafter.

Close to real-life scenario.

Also, talking about such sensitive issues on the big screen can be boring at times. After all, why would a couple want to watch their own uneasiness in life on the big screen?

This is where PC Shekar’s work in Love Birds needs to be appreciated. The story is simple, that of a newly married couple.

Soon after the marriage, reality bites over minor issues that are universal in nature, such as compatibility, lack of understanding, sense of security, responsibilities, and so on.

In a nutshell, those couples who beat these, tend to have a happy married life. At least, that’s what every counsellor in real or reel life propagates.

Simple yet effective performances

Darling Krishna and Milana Nagaraj, who are also a real-life couple, play the role of Deepak and Pooja to near perfection.

The supporting characters, played by Sadhu Kokila, Rangayana Raghu, and Veena Sundar, add value to the film, not only providing comic relief but also adding some spice to the simple script.

Samyuktha Horand as a divorce lawyer who wins her cases smartly, has a meaty role this time and does it with ease.

Could have been better

As there can never be a perfect relationship, the film Love Birds too falters on various counts.

At times, it feels like an overly done husband and wife drama and may test the patience of yet-to-get-married audiences.

However, medicines aren’t meant to be tasty and sweet, this one is aimed at those who face such issues in real life.

Avinash is a Kannada actor, who has starred in South Indian language films and notably in the Kannada, Telugu and Tamil film industries. Avinash completed Master of Arts in Literature from the Mysore University and began his Career as a lecturer of English. In the beginning of his career, he was very active in the English theater circuit in Bangalore. He was following theater during his college days and he got into films. Avinash has acted in more than 200 movies in his career. Avinash married lawyer turned actress Malavika, who was his co-star in the soap opera Mayamriga.

Avinash made his debut in the movie ‘Thrishoola’. Unfortunately, the movie was not released due to reasons. He was introduced to the Kannada film industry through another movie “Samyuktha”. His first notable role was as saint Madhvacharya in the movie Madhavacharya by G.V.Iyer. Some of the famous films in which he acted are Chinnari Mutha, Nishkarsha, Mathadaana, lockup death, Appu, Dweepa, Chigurida Kanasu, Apthamitra, Chandramukhi, and Amrithadhare. For over a period of years, Avinash with his exceptional acting steadily built a place for himself in the film industry. Avinash is much sought after supporting actor in the Kannada film industry.

He won many awards. Some awards are Karnataka State Award for Best Supporting Actor for Mathadaana, Suvarna Film awards for Best Performance in a negative role for Prithvi. SICA (South India Cinematographers Association) Award for best supporting actor for Singarava, Film fare Award for best supporting actor for Aptharakshaka. Avinash is a keen cricket enthusiast himself. He also actively takes parts in actor Vishnuvardhan's Snehaloka Cricket Team (SCT).

Love movie review: ಕೋಮುದಳ್ಳುರಿಯ ನಡುವೆ ಅರಳಿದ ಪ್ರೇಮಕಥೆ

ನವ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆಗಳಾದ ಪ್ರಜಯ್‌ ಜಯರಾಮ್‌ ಹಾಗೂ ವೃಷಾ ಪಾಟೀಲ್‌ ನಾಯಕ-ನಾಯಕಿಯಾಗಿ ಅಭಿನಯಿಸಿರುವ “ಲವ್‌’ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಈ ವಾರ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯಾಗಿ ತೆರೆಗೆ ಬಂದಿದೆ. ಸಿನಿಮಾದ ಟೈಟಲ್ಲೇ ಹೇಳುವಂತೆ, “ಲವ್‌’ ಅಪ್ಪಟ ಲವ್‌ ಸ್ಟೋರಿಯ ಸಿನಿಮಾ. ಹಿಂದೂ-ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ಪ್ರೇಮಕಥೆ ಈ ಸಿನಿಮಾದ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಬಿಂದು. ಹಿಂದೂ ಹುಡುಗ ಮತ್ತು ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ಹುಡುಗಿ ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿದಾಗ ಅವರ ನಡುವಿನ ಪ್ರೀತಿಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗುವ ಸವಾಲುಗಳು, ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳೇನು? ಅಂತಿಮವಾಗಿ ಧರ್ಮ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ನಡುವಿನ ಸಂಘರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದು ಗೆಲ್ಲುತ್ತದೆ, ಯಾವುದು ಉಳಿಯುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂಬುದೇ “ಲವ್‌’ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಕಥೆಯ ಒಂದು ಎಳೆ.

ಕೆಲ ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಕರಾವಳಿ ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಘಟನೆಯನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಅದನ್ನು ಸಿನಿಮ್ಯಾಟಿಕ್‌ ಆಗಿ ತೆರೆಗೆ ತರುವ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನದಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿತ್ರತಂಡ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. “ಲವ್‌’ ಸಿನಿಮಾದಲ್ಲಿ ಲವ್‌ ಸ್ಟೋರಿಯ ಜೊತೆಜೊತೆಗೆ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಭಾವನೆಗಳು, ಅದನ್ನು ಸಮಾಜ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸುವ ರೀತಿ ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುವ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರು.

ಹಿಂದೂ ಹುಡುಗನಾಗಿ ನವ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆ ಪ್ರಜಯ್‌ ಜಯರಾಮ್‌ ಹಾಗೂ ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ಹುಡುಗಿಯಾಗಿ ವೃಷಾ ಪಾಟೀಲ್‌ ಜೋಡಿ ತೆರೆಮೇಲೆ ಗಮನ ಸೆಳೆಯುತ್ತದೆ. ಉಳಿದಂತೆ ಪ್ರಭಾಕರ್‌ ಕುಂದರ್‌, ಸತೀಶ್‌, ಉಮೇಶ್‌ ಶ್ರೀಕಾಂತ್‌ ತೇಲಿ, ರಾಧಿಕಾ ಭಟ್‌, ತಿಲಕ, ಪ್ರಸಾದ್‌ ಭಟ್‌, ಹರೀಶ್‌ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ, ಸೌರಭ್‌ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರೀ, ರಜತ್‌ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಮತ್ತಿತರ ಕಲಾವಿದರು ತಮ್ಮ ಪಾತ್ರವನ್ನು ಅಚ್ಚುಕಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ನಿಭಾಯಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕರಾವಳಿಯ ದೃಶ್ಯಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆ ಸಂಗೀತ ತೆರೆಮೇಲೆ ಗಮನ ಸೆಳೆಯುತ್ತದೆ. ಒಂದೆರಡು ಹಾಡುಗಳು ಮೆಲೋಡಿಯಾಗಿ ಮೂಡಿಬಂದಿದ್ದು, ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳು ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂಡಿಬಂದಿದೆ. ಚಿತ್ರಕಥೆ ಮತ್ತು ನಿರೂಪಣೆಗೆ ಚಿತ್ರತಂಡ ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಗಮನ ನೀಡಿದ್ದರೆ, ಹೊಸಬರ “ಲವ್‌’ ಸ್ಟೋರಿ ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಪರಿಣಾಮಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿ ಮನಮುಟ್ಟುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆಗಳಿದ್ದವು. ಒಟ್ಟಾರೆ ಹೊಸಬರ “ಲವ್‌’ ಸಿನಿಮಾವನ್ನು ಒಮ್ಮೆ ನೋಡಲು ಅಡ್ಡಿಯಿಲ್ಲ.

Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali Movie Review: Echoes of love and loss

In the tender spaces where dew drops kiss the morning grass and the sunshine bathes the Earth in a golden glow, a tale of love is reborn. Chandrajith Belliappa’s evocative blog, "Dew Drops, Sunshine, and a Blade of Grass," cast a spell on producer Rakshit Shetty, rekindling in him a dormant passion. The words wove themselves into his consciousness, planting the seeds that blossomed into  Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali  on a grand canvas. This film, however, is not merely a narrative; it’s an experience—a visceral journey through love, doubt, and the complexity of human relationships. All of this is told through 10 chapters from the perspective of the protagonist, Siddharth Ashok.

The film begins with a traditional family wedding, introducing us to Sid (Vihan), a young businessman caught in the throes of indecision. He grapples with the dilemma of whether or not to marry Radha (Mayuri Nataraja), a woman ten years younger than him. The story explores the delicate balance between care and love, questioning whether it’s fair to marry if one person cannot fall in love with another.

Radha, on the other hand, is a woman of quiet strength. Her dreams of a life with Sid are portrayed beautifully in the song ' Radhe ', a melody that captures her inner world. Despite the age gap, Radha’s decision to marry Sid is not one of compromise but of hope—hope that love might grow where none existed before.

The film’s visual storytelling is as moving as its narrative. The flickering of a photograph, the symbolism of a ring, and the subtle expressions on the actors’ faces all contribute to the depth of the story. The tension builds as Sid’s true feelings begin to surface—feelings he struggles to articulate. Radha, however, misinterprets his actions, seeing them as playful rather than significant, which only adds to the complexity of their relationship.

Through flashbacks, the film reveals the roots of Sid’s hesitation. A Polaroid camera, used by a small child at the wedding, hints at a past that still haunts Sid. He is reminded of not just his mother, who once used a Polaroid camera to capture moments of his life, but also his former love, whose only photograph—a picture of a red postbox—becomes a symbol of memory and regret. Sid’s internal conflict is palpable as he considers calling off the wedding, not out of cold feet but rather of a deep sense of honesty—one that might be mistaken for cruelty.

As the narrative unfolds, we are introduced to Anahita (Ankita Amar), a non-Kannadiga, Hindi-speaking girl whose presence lingers like a shadow over Sid’s life, complicating his feelings towards Radha. The thin line between care and love blurs, leaving Sid caught between the past and the present.

The film’s pivotal moments occur as Sid, struggling with the memory of Anahita, navigates a tangled web of feelings for Radha. We see Sid revisiting memories of Anahita—memories that have haunted him for seven long years. The comparison between Radha and Anahita becomes inevitable as Sid wrestles with the realisation that his longing may not be for Anahita’s return but rather for the erasure of her memory altogether. This haunting drives Sid to a breaking point, compelling him to confront his unresolved feelings in a journey to Goa—a journey not just of physical distance but of emotional reckoning, in search of answers.

Chandrajith takes us back and forth in time, revealing the early days of Sid as a tough youth and a cricketer who stands firm for his college. However, he softens when he meets Anahita at a college fest, and the song ‘Ooh Anahita’ well explains about her. It’s love at first sight for Sid and Anahita, who is born on a leap year, celebrates her birthday on February 29, and has her own individual lifestyle—disciplined, introverted, and fond of capturing moments with her Polaroid camera. She loves speaking to flowers, and when she tells Sid early on, “You make me feel uncomfortable,” it perfectly describes her guarded life.

It takes time for a friendship to blossom between Sid and Anahita, given her nature. When Sid, with a finger ring in his pocket, finally expresses his love for Anahita, it isn’t the dreamy picture he envisioned. Cut to the present, a significant event on a rainy day symbolises both cleansing and the weight of emotions that have been carried for too long. The rain serves as a metaphor for the release of pent-up feelings, washing away the remnants of the past as Sid seeks answers in Goa. Here, the film captures the emotional turmoil of a man caught between the lingering shadows of a past love and the reality of Anahita’s present, and almost in a dead end.

Through a fleeting mention by Anahita of her mother's Kannada roots and her Bengali father, Sid uncovers the significance of the book  Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali  and a picture of a postbox. While the hints lead him to Goa, the question lingers: will they finally voice the love that’s remained unspoken?

The film’s conclusion is not just a traditional ending but a resolution, one that brings Sid face to face with his fate and with Anahita, the woman who has lived in his heart. As the rain pours down, the story comes full circle, blending the past and present in a way that is both poetic and deeply moving.

Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali  leaves its audience with a sense of reflection, inviting them to ponder the thin line between care and love, the memories that shape us, and the inevitability of moving forward even when the heart longs to remain in the past.

Some highlights of the film include Radha’s solitary honeymoon, a bittersweet gesture that speaks volumes about her resilience. She carries on, even when Sid is unsure, showing a determination that is both admirable and heartbreaking. As the story unfolds, it becomes clear that Sid is not just struggling with his feelings for Radha but also with the past of Anahita, a woman who left an indelible mark on his soul. His journey to Goa, searching for answers, is symbolic of his need to reconcile his past with his present.

Then there is Sid’s mother, whose influence has shaped much of his life and her dream of him becoming a cricketer (although Sid abandons it for a reason). There is also a flashback, delicately woven through the narrative by a taxi driver’s recollection at Goa, which transports us 25 years into the past. Here, we encounter familiar faces, now aged by time and burdened by the weight of unspoken emotions. The film shows the threadbare connection between love and care and how easily affection can transform into something more complex. It also reminds us of the popular 1990s Dairy Milk advertisement where the girl gets into a cricket ground; only here, it is reimagined by Anahita in Sid’s presence at a football stadium. This brings us to the film’s heartbreaking conclusion, which delivers its emotional weight with subtlety, notwithstanding its predictability.

Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali  is a film that asks difficult questions. Can love be rekindled where it has faded? Is it right to marry without love? And most importantly, how do we navigate the fine line between care and genuine affection?

The performances are uniformly good across the board, whether it be by Ankita Amar, Vihan, who does full justice to the director’s vision, or Mayuri, who takes brownie points for her portrayal of today’s practical yet emotional girl. Girija Shettar also makes a comeback after a long time with a key role.

With its poetic visuals from cinematographer Srivathsan Selvarajan, complex characters, Gagan Baderia's soothing background score, some melodious tracks, and outstanding performances, Chandrajith’s  Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali  feels like a cinematic reflection of his meaningful blog. The tale has been explored in various forms across cinema, and the narrative around medical complications might seem familiar, but what sets the film apart is the way it reverberates with the quiet pain of unspoken emotions.
