Adobe Creative Cloud combines all of Adobe's industry-leading applications in one service. Find out what a subscription includes, and who should use it.
If you work in design, media, marketing, or photography, you've likely already used one or more of the programs in the Adobe Creative software suite. Apps like Photoshop, Premiere, and Lightroom are the industry standard for creatives.
However, Adobe's individual software licenses used to be prohibitively expensive---especially if you're a freelancer or independent professional.
Creative Cloud (CC) is Adobe's way of making a wide array of its programs available as a service. Instead of a one-time purchase, you pay a monthly subscription fee. The fee varies depending on how many apps you use. CC also includes additional services to improve your creative workflows, such as 100 GB of cloud storage, a customizable portfolio website via Adobe Portfolio, and access to Adobe's extensive font library.
The options and prices for individuals are:
- All apps ($52.99 per month/$599.88 per year): You get access to the entire array of Creative Cloud apps, including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Illustrator, and Adobe XD.
- Photography Plan ($9.99 per month/$119.88 per year): This option provides photographers with access to Lightroom, Photoshop , and 20 GB of cloud storage. You can also opt for a plan that includes 1 TB of cloud storage for $19.99 per month.
- Single apps: You can also subscribe to each app individually. Single-app plans range from $4.99 to $20.99 per month, depending on the software you choose. These subscriptions also include 100 GB of cloud storage and access to Adobe Fonts.
Individual Creative Cloud plans are a great deal if you're a creative professional who relies on one or more Adobe programs.
If you're a business owner who also needs features like workflow management and collaborative video editing, check out Adobe's business plans.
In addition to Adobe's video- and image-editing programs that have been around for decades, you also get access to apps and services that are fairly new. This can be a great way to learn new skills.
The following are some of Adobe's newer services with which you might be unfamiliar:
- Spark: These apps allow you to quickly create web-based content on both mobile and the web. Spark Page allows you to make responsive web pages. You can also produce graphics for social media with Spark Post, or create short video stories with Spark Video.
- Premiere Rush: An alternative to Premiere Pro, this program is for online content creators who want to edit videos quickly. It features a streamlined interface with fewer features. Premiere Rush projects can also be opened in Premiere Pro for further editing. An integrated mobile app is also included.
- XD: This User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) design tool for web and mobile is particularly for those who formerly used Photoshop and Illustrator to design interfaces.
- Portfolio: This tool allows you to build a personalized website to show off your work---especially anything you've created with the Adobe software suite. It's included with most Adobe Creative Cloud plans.
- Fonts: Most plans also provide access to Adobe's comprehensive library of fonts , which are compatible with every program in the CC.
While it's unlikely one person would need every service in Creative Cloud, it's nice to keep your options open. You can install or uninstall each Adobe program individually.
There's a case to be made that it's more expensive to pay for a subscription long-term, rather than paying for a single, permanent software license. However, the consistent updates, cloud services, and access to new features make Adobe Creative Cloud a fantastic value. The all apps plan is great for creative professionals and content creators, as most use some combination of these programs.
If you ever switch careers or no longer need any of the apps, you can simply end your subscription. There are also several affordable alternatives to the Adobe suite you might want to check out.
Students or teachers who have the credentials should also look into Adobe's student pricing. An all-access plan costs $19.99 per month for the first year, and then $29.99 for the second and onward. To be eligible, all you need is a university email address or a document proving your institutional affiliation.
Adobe also offers a free trial of CC, so you can try out the service before you subscribe.

We are excited to share with you this quarter’s update with details about new features and feature enhancements that will make your experience more productive, efficient, and secure. This quarter we released Acrobat AI Assistant. Check out the video overview here . We also released new eSignature features in Acrobat Sign, and new and updated Acrobat Services APIs. Businesses can use the generative AI features in Acrobat and Acrobat Reader to quickly get quality insights and summaries from lengthy, complex documents and get sources cited across multiple documents. AI Assistant can answer questions, retrieve and organize information, and compose responses in various styles. The AI-powered features in Acrobat and Acrobat Reader support multiple documents and multiple document types, including PDFs, DOCX, PPTX, TXT, and RTF files. AI Assistant only sources information from the documents you tell it to, so that you are in control and your documents are protected. With AI Assistant, you can accelerate time to knowledge, turn your documents into action and save hours of time to focus on what matters.
Increase productivity by automatically formatting content as lists, tables and more, and copying it into your email, report, or other output documents.
Easily validate and cross-reference AI Assistant responses through attributions.

Increase the scope of your analysis by adding additional files in Acrobat AI Assistant.
AI Assistant mobile experience
Easily get insights from your documents when you are on the move with AI Assistant in the Adobe Acrobat Reader mobile app. The app supports voice capture when you don’t have a free hand to type your question. Similar to Acrobat AI Assistant on desktop and web, you can leverage attributions to verify the response or dig deeper into the details, and you can easily copy the response into an email, message, or document.
Availability:
Acrobat AI Assistant is available on desktop, web, and mobile. Currently, it is available in English only. Additional languages are coming shortly.

Get meeting summaries and insights with AI Assistant
Generate meeting summaries, identify hot topics, and identify action items from your transcripts with AI Assistant in Acrobat for Microsoft Teams. Even if you missed the meeting, you can use AI Assistant to ask questions and understand how the conversation went. Notifications are sent automatically via the Adobe Acrobat bot in Microsoft Teams chat after the meeting ends.
Choose a suggested prompt in the chat bot to start the Acrobat AI Assistant conversation with the transcript summary. Select Send Summary adds the summary to the meeting chat.
Available on desktop and web. Requires Microsoft® Teams desktop app or Microsoft® Teams in supported web browsers.

Acrobat is integrated with Adobe Express , the all-in-one design, photo, and video tool that makes content creation easy. Easily add an AI-generated image by selecting the new “Generate image” feature that brings up Adobe Express and type a description.
Select one of the image choices or try another prompt.
Image is automatically inserted in the document back in Acrobat where it can be moved and resized and optionally edited back in Adobe Express.

We have introduced a new, more intuitive product experience. Select request e-signatures from the menu on the left to bring up Adobe Acrobat Sign.
Enter recipient(s) by just entering their email addresses. The document from Adobe Acrobat will be sent for signature using Adobe Acrobat Sign.
Available for existing Acrobat customers.

New: sms link option for esignature recipients.
The SMS link notification functionality enables sending agreement URLs straight to a recipient's mobile phone, bypassing the need for email access. This proves beneficial when immediate action is required to present a document that needs to be signed.
By activating the SMS link feature for a signer, they will receive all related links — such as sign, reminder, and completed agreement notifications — directly to their specified mobile number. These SMS notifications can be sent alongside or as an alternative to traditional email notifications.
SMS link notification is available for enterprise license plans only.

NEW: Block Signers Within a Specific Geography
The Block signers from signing within a particular geography setting allows an account to fully block recipient activity in a specified geolocation based on the IP address of the connecting recipient. The IP Address is collected when the recipient uses the Review and sign button on their email notification.
The option to block recipients by their geolocation is available for business and enterprise license plans.

NEW: Automate Custom Send Workflows
Automatic Workflow Detection enables admins to manage their agreement versions at the file level by placing a unique string of characters on the first page of their PDF. This unique string is linked to a Custom Workflow in Acrobat Sign, pairing the uploaded document with the workflow when it's uploaded. As a result, organizations using standard templates for custom documents can automate their agreement setup and apply form fields through these templates, greatly cutting down the time needed for senders to prepare their specific agreements.

A new option, match text, will allow the workflow to automatically be invoked when a pdf containing the matching text is sent for signature from “Start from Library”.

Update: watermark api.
This API automates adding watermarks to PDF files programmatically. The API takes a document to be watermarked and a PDF that contains the watermark and outputs the watermarked document. Whether it’s adding a watermark to PDFs as part of a document generation process or adding watermarks to many PDFs in bulk, this new API can eliminate manual processing time and improve security.
