SQA exam dates 2024: timetables and key information
The SQA said the return of coursework would benefit students by giving them the chance to fully demonstrate their learning; ensuring they have a fuller understanding of the whole course; and enabling them to apply their skills in practice.
Exam timetable and learner apps
Find your exam dates and times on the SQA exam timetable. The 2023 exam diet starts on Monday 24 April and finishes on Thursday 1 June. Results Day will be Tuesday 8 August.

A copy of the Course Deadlines for National 5 English is available to view below. N5 Course Structure 2022-23. This year's folio deadline for N5 is set as follows: N5 Final Folio submission - TBC. Please note, this deadline is final. After this point submitted folios will be packaged up and collected by the SQA to be distributed to markers.

To ensure complete accuracy in the scanning process, candidates must use the SQA approved template to produce a physical copy of their portfolio and dissertation for submission. The coursework template is available in both Microsoft Word and Google Docs format and can be downloaded from the Advanced Higher English webpage.

Get your coursework back from SQA
Get your coursework back. We offer a service to return non-examination material submitted to us for assessment. This is for coursework assessed for the 2024 examination diet. The closing date for requests is 27 September 2024. Any requests received after this date will incur a late charge. We despatch materials from Monday 21 October 2024.
