Prepare Your Zoom Meeting
To record PowerPoint presentations with audio and video slides, you need to open Zoom. You can use the Zoom desktop app, which is available for download. Or you can log into your Zoom account inside your favorite web browser.
If you already have a single meeting scheduled, you’ll see a thumbnail for it on the Home tab inside of Zoom. But if you've got many scheduled calls and invites, you’ll want to navigate to the Meetings tab. Here, you’ll find a complete list of Zoom meetings that you’re invited to.
As you can see above, I've got a meeting scheduled for today at 9:30 PM. The invite has been shared with others, and I'll be the host of the meeting. Imagine in this example that we want to share a PowerPoint deck and record it for others.
To make a good first impression with your audience, it’s helpful to prep your slide deck in advance. This helps you be ready to share when the time comes. You won’t have to scramble around for your files in front of viewers. I like to open my PowerPoint, then minimize it, before starting a meeting. This way, it’s ready to roll when it’s time to share.
To begin the meeting, click Start. You’ll see the Join Audio menu appear. This lets you choose the audio source that you want to use to capture your narration. In this case, choose Join with Computer Audio.
Optionally, you’ll have the option to test your speakers and microphone. If you’re working with a new setup, this is a great way to ensure that you’re capturing clear audio.
Now, you’re in your meeting. Watch as other participants appear. You’re ready to get started!

Begin Recording
With your meeting underway, your next step is to begin recording it. Optionally, you can start sharing slides before you begin recording. But I prefer to start the recording first. It’s easy to forget to turn on the recording once you've got slides displayed. And there’s nothing worse than reaching the end of a meeting and realizing that you’ve forgotten to record!
To begin a recording of a PowerPoint presentation, move your cursor over the menu bar in Zoom. It’s the series of options and buttons at the bottom of the app’s screen. First, make sure that your microphone isn’t muted. This setting is controlled by the Mute button, found on the left side of the menu bar.
To record your PowerPoint in Zoom, click Record . From this point on, anything you share on-screen or say aloud will be captured in your recording.
This is also true of other attendees. If they speak or ask questions, their voices will be captured in the PPT meeting recording. You also have the option of sharing video from your webcam. This way, viewers can watch you speak as you share your PowerPoint. This can be captured in your recording too.
It's a good idea to mention to attendees if you're recording the meeting. This ensures they're able to consent to the recording. Plus, it lets them know that you'll have a copy available for review later. Do this at the beginning of your meeting so that all are aware of the recording process.
Share Slides on Zoom
With your recording underway, it’s time to share your PowerPoint slide deck in Zoom. Once again, return to the menu bar at the bottom of the screen. This time, you’ll want to choose Share Screen . It’s easy to find, highlighted in green in the center of the menu.
Click on Share Screen, and a settings window opens. On its Basic tab, you’ll see several thumbnail buttons. These control the source that you want to share from. Usually, there will be tabs for every app open on your computer. Plus, there are options for a whiteboard, to connect an iPad, and more.
To see how to video record yourself presenting a PowerPoint on Zoom, click on the Microsoft PowerPoint thumbnail. Then, click Share.
PowerPoint appears on your screen. You can navigate through your slides as usual. You’ll see that a green box has appeared around the border of the PowerPoint window. This signifies that this area of the screen is being actively recorded. Anything outside of the green boundary won't be captured in your recording.
As you can see, it’s easy to learn how to record a PowerPoint presentation in Zoom. It’s a useful way to share and preserve slide presentations for others in the future!
For best results, keep the following tips in mind:
- Narrate clearly and concisely. Remember, you’re being recorded! Speak clearly, at a cadence that’s easy to follow. Talk too fast and your words will be hard to understand.
- Control sources of audio. Try and eliminate background noise from your environment. This keeps extra sounds from appearing in your recording. And be sure to ask other attendees to mute their mics, unless they've got a question.

Save and Share the Finished Recording
When you’re finished presenting, it’s time to end the meeting and ready your recording for sharing. This is easy to do, and only takes a moment.
You’ll first want to stop sharing your PowerPoint slides when you’re finished. To do so, click Stop Sharing . This is highlighted in red on the menu bar. (It’s only visible when you're actively sharing).
Then, end your meeting when you're ready. Click End , then End Meeting for All. Once you end a Zoom meeting, the app saves any recordings that you made during your meeting. For longer meetings, this may take a few moments. You can monitor the progress on the bar shown in the Conversion popup.
When the conversion process is complete, a Finder window opens. Inside it, you’ll see an MP4 video file. This is your converted meeting PowerPoint! You can watch it on your computer or mobile device. And it’s ready for sharing with others.

Step 4: Check that you are unmuted . If you need to record video of yourself, ensure that your webcam is switched on, and select ‘Start Video’ from the bar menu at the bottom of your screen.

How to record a video presentation with Riverside

Using ZOOM to Record a Video Presentation

Our University paid version of ZOOM allows you to record your computer screen and voice to create a video that you can share with others via Canvas or a private web link. In this tutorial, we will illustrate how to use the ZOOM Cloud Recording option to record a presentation and share the video with someone.

Using the Zoom Virtual Slides Background Feature
The free version of Zoom has limited features. For example, the free version does not allow for cloud recordings and has limited time restrictions. To get the full version of Zoom, go to http://udenver.zoom.us and click the “Download ZOOM” option.
After clicking the Download ZOOM option, you will be taken to the software download page. Select the “ Sign In with SSO ” option, this will allow you to use the fully functional paid university version of ZOOM.
Type in udenver in the box.
Sign In with SSO – Company domain
A new window will open in your browser. Type in your DU email and password and click “Login.”
Click “ New Meeting ” This will open a new window and start your webcam video.
Click the Record button and select “ Record to Cloud ” option; you are now recording. If you wish to post your video on YouTube, Vimeo or some other video sharing website, click “ Record on this computer “, ZOOM will make a mp4 file after you end your ZOOM meeting.
To record your computer screen, click the “ Share Screen ” icon in the middle of the Zoom window. Select your main screen to record and press the “ Share Screen ” button.
To end the recording, press the “ More ” menu option and select “ End Meeting “. Press the “ End Meeting for All ” button. This will end your meeting and start the upload process, so stay connected to the Internet.
If you selected “ Record to Cloud “, after your pressed the End Meeting button, your recording will automatically will be uploaded into your DU MediaSpace and DU Canvas My Media account. You should get an email sent to your University email after 20-30 minutes.
If you selected “ Record to this Computer “, after your pressed the End Meeting button, your recording will be saved on your computer. ZOOM recordings are saved in a folder called ZOOM within your documents folder. You can upload this mp4 file to YouTube, Vimeo or some other video sharing website.

Recording a video lecture of yourself with Zoom and PowerPoint slidedeck
There are two different ways to record a video lecture of yourself and your PowerPoint slidedeck using Zoom.

If you want to record your screen and PowerPoint without your video image (similar to an audio podcast, but with a visual component of your slides), follow these instructions .
Note: Before doing any recording, make sure to prepare your slidedeck to make room for the video image of yourself, so that your video image won't be overlaid on top of any text or images. Sometimes drawing a rectangular box on each slide helps to "save" a space for your video to go.
- Open the Zoom app and your PowerPoint file. Close all other files and applications.
- In Zoom, click “New Meeting” (orange icon); make sure your microphone and camera are on.
- Go to PowerPoint and launch your slideshow.
- At the bottom Zoom toolbar, choose Record, then choose “Record on this Computer” from the menu that pops up. Your lecture is now recording. Note: if you don't see the Record button, you may need to click on the "More" button in the Zoom toolbar, and then choose the "Record on this Computer" option.
- Start your lecture. Advance your slides with the right arrow key; return to a previous slide with the left arrow key.
- When you are finished, click on the "Stop Recording" button in the bottom Zoom toolbar. Note: if you don't see the Stop Recording button, you may need to click on the "More" button in the Zoom toolbar, and choose the "Stop Recording" option there.
- Trim the beginning and ending of your video (if needed) using QuickTime or another video editing tool, then upload your video to Ensemble, Reed’s media server.

Setting Up Your PowerPoint Presentation
Before you launch Zoom, it's a good idea to make sure your PowerPoint presentation is set up the way you want it. This includes things like the layout, font size, and any animations or transitions you have included.
To do this, open your PowerPoint presentation and click the "Slide Show" tab in the top menu. From here, you can choose the "Set Up Slide Show" option to adjust any settings you need. Make sure to select "Browsed by an individual (window)" as the "Show Type" so that you can see your presentation in a window on your desktop.
Launching Zoom and Starting a Meeting
Now it's time to launch Zoom and start a meeting. Once you have Zoom open, click the "New Meeting" button to get started. You'll be given the option to "Join with Video" or "Join with Audio Only." Make sure to click "Join with Video" so that your webcam is turned on and your audience can see you.
Sharing Your Screen and PowerPoint Presentation
Once you're in the meeting, it's time to share your screen and PowerPoint presentation with your audience. To do this, click the "Share Screen" button in the bottom menu. From the pop-up window, select the "Specific Window" option and choose your PowerPoint presentation from the list of open windows.
Starting the Recording
Now that your screen is being shared, it's time to start the recording. To do this, click the "Record" button in the bottom menu. You'll see a red dot appear next to the button to indicate that the recording is in progress.

How do I record a PowerPoint presentation in Zoom?
The Zoom online meeting platform allows you to record the audio and video of your meetings. Follow these steps to record a PowerPoint presentation in your Zoom account.
1. Before logging into Zoom, open the PowerPoint deck that you wish to use for your presentation.
2. Navigate to the Zoom log in page: https://zoom.us
2. Click on Host and select either video on.
3. Click "Open Zoom Meeting" and wait for Zoom to load and open.
4. Click "Join with Computer Audio."
5. Your video and audio are now activated. Look at the bottom of the screen to see meeting tools. Select "Share Screen."
6. Select your PowerPoint presentation to open into the Zoom meeting.
7. Once you start sharing, the tool bar will move to the top of the page. Click on the ... to see all options. Select Record when you are ready to start recording your meeting. NOTE: Be sure to set your slide deck to present mode for your presentation.
8. When you have completed you presentation, click the ... More to view the entire tools menu and click on Stop Recording.
9. Once the recording has ended, stop the meeting nand a link to the recording will be generated. You will be prompted to either create a new folder or place your recording in an existing folder.
10. Navigate to the folder to access the recording link to your meeting.

And this is where Zoom came in. It successfully replaced physical meetings with digital ones. So, if you haven’t worked with Zoom yet, you will sooner or later get more familiar with it. 1. Should you use Zoom for presentation recordings?
Before we get into the essence of the topic, we need to mention a couple of reasons why Zoom is a good choice for recording presentations.
- It’s secure – popularity plays a huge role. Famous apps receive more updates and are more secure since they want to keep their customers behind them.
- The free version is more than decent – the free version allows you to have a video conference with other people for up to 40 minutes and have up to 100 call participants.
- It’s popular – Maybe you already tried Zoom and you are familiar with the software. Also, it is used by many companies and you can ask a colleague or friend for help.
2. What is the difference between video conferencing and video recording tools?
In one of our previous articles, we showed you how to record a presentation using different tools – like Loom, Panopto, QuickTime, and Game Bar. We highly recommend that you dedicate some time for practice at home before presenting to other people. Stuttering and mispronunciation of words are not good signs for how well you are presenting. On the other hand, video conferencing tools like Zoom and Google Meet are made for people who are recording in real-time.
3. How to record a Zoom presentation?
Zoom is a great application for delivering high-quality presentations with ease. The tool enables you to record your screen, camera, and voice with just a few clicks of a button. You need to follow some steps that we’ll show below.
Step 1. Create a Zoom account
The first step is to create a Zoom account . You are assigned to a free plan by default but you can also explore the paid options if you need to. If you’re assigned to present in Zoom but you’re a guest, it’s often the admin who holds a premium account.
Step 2. Download the desktop app
Once you have opened your Zoom account, you have to download the desktop app on your computer and install it.
Step 3. Create a meeting / join a meeting
When you are all set, you are now able to host your meeting. You have two options to start a meeting: New Meeting is the option used for immediate meetings, or Schedule – to plan your next meeting ahead of time. You can also join a meeting if someone shared a meeting link with you. There is a Meeting Id required for some meetings, so the host should provide you with that in advance. It’s a combination of numbers.
Step 4. Select how to join the meeting
Zoom will ask you to confirm which audio and video settings you are going to use. Many people prefer to present only the slides, while others want a more realistic experience – with the camera on. Start without video and Start with video are self-explanatory, so we won’t dig into details.
Step 5. Click on “Share Screen”
The next step is to select Share Screen from the Zoom control bar. You have to also press Record at the beginning of your meeting (or presentation), and just click Pause/Stop recording. Pausing the recording is reasonable when the others are discussing topics nonessential to the presentation (off topics), stopping the recording is the moment you want to end it.
Step 6. Pick the screen you want to share
You can share your screen (you will have two options if you have two monitors). When you have a Keynote or PowerPoint tab open, you will find them as available options. This is when you should click on them. If your presentation is made in Google Slides, or you have it in iCloud or OneDrive, then you have to find the relevant tab and pick a Slideshow mode for the applicable program. We advise you to remove any unrelated tabs beforehand, as they will be visible to your audience and could distract you to find the presentation file fast enough.
A quick tip : If you hold a lot of valuable info on many tabs, you can create a new Google Chrome window to click on it easily.
Step 7. End the recording
If you have presented everything, you can now end the Zoom recording. If there is nothing else to add, you have two options – Leave Meeting if you are invited or you are admin but you want the meeting to remain, or End the Meeting for all in case you want to end the Zoom meeting and kick other participants.
Step 8. Export the recording
When you are ready with the recording, you will have access to it. In order to download (or export) your recording, you should log into your Zoom account, then select My Account , and from the menu on the left click on Recordings . You will now have access to all recordings that you have made. To download them, you have to checkmark the ones you wish to download and click on Export .
4. Bonus: How to Make a Transparent Camera Background When Presenting?
Who wants to clean the entire room, in order to stream their camera? Nobody. Luckily, there is an option in Zoom where you can present with a webcam without any background. It is working with Microsoft PowerPoint, and it is really simple. (Please, have in mind that this works best with clean color backgrounds such as green or white).
- Start a new meeting.
- Then click on the “ Advanced ” tab.
- Select “ Slides as Virtual Background “.
- Pick your PowerPoint presentation.
- Finish the task by clicking on “ Share “
Recording a presentation requires different skills today. It allows you to share your ideas or discuss them with people virtually. With Zoom, you can present anything to your peers, tutors, investors, or clients anywhere. Here are the steps on how to record a presentation on Zoom:
You cannot record a Zoom presentation locally on your smartphone, but you can record to the Zoom cloud. As a host or co-host, you can record to the cloud; however, you cannot do so as a participant. Here are the steps to follow:
- Ensure you have the Zoom app. You can download the Zoom app from Google Play Store.
- Open the Zoom app, and start or host a new meeting. You can also be a co-host by receiving permission from the original host.
- Ensure that your recording source is unmuted before you start recording. If you want a video of yourself, use your camera.
- Click “More” tap “Record” and the app will now show “Recording” at the top of your screen. Your video will automatically record to the cloud.
- To stop or pause the recording, click “More” again, then tap the “Pause” button or “Stop” button.
- You can share your screen with others. While recording, you can talk through the slideshow.
- Once you are done with the presentation, click “End Meeting.” Your device will process the recording, and the presentation will appear under “Recordings” on the Zoom web portal.
Your Zoom presentation will automatically record to the cloud on your computer if you are a host or co-host. You can also use your computer to record on Zoom locally. Here are the steps to follow:
- Ensure you have the Zoom app. You can download the app from the Zoom website.
- Then carry out the steps in numbers 2 through to 9 under the steps to follow in recording a Zoom presentation on smartphones.
- For changing local recording settings, go to your profile, click “Settings” then “Recordings”. You can change the settings here, but usually, you don’t have to change anything here.
- After your Zoom session starts, click on “More” and then “Record on this Computer”. This will start recording your Zoom call. You can also use the Alt+R on Windows and Command(⌘)+Shift+R on macOS to local recording.

How to record a PowerPoint presentation with a single monitor set-up
- In Zoom, start or co-host a meeting.
- Click “Share Screen” in the Zoom toolbar.
- Select the window with the PowerPoint presentation and click on Share.
- Switch to PowerPoint and navigate to the Slide Show tab.
- Open the PowerPoint file you want to present for the set-up with windows. Hit the Slide Show tab and select the “Set Up Slide Show” option. Under Show type, select “Browsed by an individual (window)” and then click OK.
- Start the presentation by choosing the “Play from Start” or “Play from Current Slide” options from the slide show tab.
- The PowerPoint will display the slide show in a window. You can now press record in Zoom by pressing the shortcuts mentioned above or the record button.
A dual monitors set-up allows you to use a primary monitor for the slide show and a secondary one for the presenter’s view. The
- Open PowerPoint presentation on a different monitor.
- Go to Zoom and start or co-host a meeting.
- Choose the monitor that the PowerPoint presentation is in as your primary monitor, then click “Share.”
- Switch back to PowerPoint and start presenting.
- The participants will view the primary monitor, while the host will view the secondary one. You can view your slide notes and control your presentation with the secondary monitor as the host. A green border indicates the monitor you are currently sharing.
- If you are not sharing the right monitor, you can click “Swap Displays” to rectify it.
- Or you can click “New Share” on the “Screen Share” tab and choose the PowerPoint screen in a slide show view.
How to video record yourself presenting a PowerPoint using Zoom
You may need a video recording of your presentation, so here is how to video record yourself during your PowerPoint presentation:
- The first step is to make room on your Slide Deck for the video recording of yourself, so it doesn’t overlap with any text or images. Sometimes, drawing a rectangle box on each slide will save space for your recording.
- Open your Zoom app, and click “New Meeting.”
- Ensure your camera and microphone are on to capture your video and audio.
- Hit the share button, go to PowerPoint, select the file you want to present, click the “Share Screen” button on the bottom toolbar, and launch your slideshow.
- Select the record option, then choose “Record on this device” from the menu at the bottom Zoom toolbar. You are now recording yourself presenting your PowerPoint presentation.

In recent years, selling over video calls has become increasingly popular amongst high-performing B2B sales reps. By using video conferencing technology like Zoom Meetings, sales reps can connect with B2B buyers anywhere in the world.
However, decision-makers are often bombarded with requests to join a video sales call and have to prioritize their time. As a result, it can be difficult for a sales rep to schedule a live Zoom video call.
Did you know that you can video record yourself presenting a PowerPoint on Zoom and then share screen recording with your product champion or a decision-maker?
In this quick and easy guide, you will learn how to do just that!
Pre-recorded or asynchronous video presentations provide an excellent opportunity to reach decision-makers in a format that is convenient for them. Asynchronous video presentations allow reps to connect with prospects in a way that is non-intrusive and flexible.
How to record PowerPoint presentation with audio and video?
Step 1 – start a new meeting in zoom..
Prepare your PowerPoint presentation that you want to video record and then open Zoom App. To start a new Zoom meeting click “New Meeting”.
If you don’t have Zoom app installed on your computer, you can download the free version of the software on the official Zoom website . It is available for both Mac and Windows.
Step 2 – Test audio inputs and outputs.
Click “Join with Computer Audio”.
You can test your microphone and speakers or headphones here by clicking “Test Speaker and Microphone”.
Step 3 – Adjust video settings.
Click on the arrow next to the “Stop Video” button. In the menu select “Video Settings”. The “Video Settings” menu has a lot of features, however, one of the most useful ones is blurring or replacing your background with an image.
Step 4 – Adjust microphone settings.
Click on the arrow next to the “Mute” button. In the menu select Audio Settings. Here you can adjust audio settings like background noise suppression, input and output levels to ensure your audio recording sounds great.
Step 5 – Share screen with your PowerPoint presentation.
Click on the “Share Screen” button and then select computer screen that has the PowerPoint window that you would like to present.
You can also mask Zoom and other apps by a black box in your screen recording by checking off the “Optimize for video clip” option in the “Share screen” box.
Step 6 – Start recording your PowerPoint presentation on video.
Click on the “More” button and press “Record” in the menu to start recording your PowerPoint presentation on Zoom.
To verify that Zoom is video recording your computer screen and your PowerPoint presentation, look for a glowing video recording circle as shown on the screenshot below.

Step 7 – Save the video recording of your PowerPoint presentation.
To stop recording and save your video recording simply end meeting.
Once you end the meeting “Converting meeting recording” box will appear.

Step 8 – Upload and share your video recording.
Depending on the size of your video files, you may be able to share them via email as an attachment or upload them on YouTube and then share a link with the recipient(s).

How to Record a Presentation with Multiple Speakers in Zoom
Need to record a group presentation? Here are some tips to create a polished recording!
Working assumption :
- The meeting host should think of themselves as the producer of the recording.
- There is one PowerPoint (.ppt file) that will shared by the meeting host.
Before you begin …
- IMPORTANT! The meeting host and all speakers should update their Zoom client to the latest version .
- Need to borrow a headset or clip-on microphone? Contact the ITS Information Desk at [email protected] , 540.458.4357 (HELP), or stop by Leyburn Library.
- Why? The kind of microphone you use will affect the other participants’ ability to hear you.
- Enable “Cloud Recording”.
- Enable “Record active speaker with shared screen”.
- Enable “Record thumbnails when sharing”.
- Enable “Optimize the recording for 3rd party video editor”.
- Click the Save button.
Five minutes before the meeting begins ….
- Why? Other applications have a way of intruding and asking for attention from your CPU and broadband connection.
- Headset microphones should sit an inch or so away from your face and a few centimeters away from the corner of your lips. Clip-on microphones should sit at the upper side of the chest.
OK, it’s time!
- The host signs into Zoom with their W&L credentials (either at wlu.zoom.us or within the Zoom client) and starts the meeting.
- Do an audio/video check for each speaker, i.e. make sure everyone can start/stop their camera and mute/unmute their microphone.
- All speakers start their cameras.
- Share only the PowerPoint application, not the entire desktop.
- The meeting host spotlights speaker #1 .
- All other speakers should stop their video and mute themselves.
- The meeting host turns on “ Hide non-video participants “.
- The meeting host starts a cloud recording .
- When the speaker #1 is finished, the speaker #2 should start video and unmute audio. Then speaker #1 stops video and mutes audio while the meeting host spotlights speaker #2.
- Repeat for all speakers.
- Stop the cloud recording when finished!
Don’t panic if there’s a goof or mistake! After the recording has processed so you can download it , the mp4 file can be edited in Camtasia (Windows or Mac) or QuickTime (Mac). Contact the ITS Information Desk you need access to either of those applications!

Step 6. During the recording session, you can use pause and resume buttons to manage narration and navigation.
Step 7. Click the red button again to stop recording. You can preview the records.
Step 8. If you want to re-record your narration, click the Clear recording button (trash can icon) left to the red record button to delete the existing capture. Then, start recording again.
Step 9. After pressing Esc or clicking End show to exit the Record Slide Show experience, you will see the narration (audio/video) applied to the slides, as well as the appropriate slide timing and inking animations.
Step 10. Go to File > Export to export your presentation as a video. Select a video format you need (MP4 or MOV).
Record Keynote Presentation with the Built-in Recording Feature
Keynote is part of the iWork productivity suite developed by Apple Inc. for presentations on Mac, iPad, and iPhone. It is embedded with an integrated recording feature to help record a PowerPoint presentation on Mac.
However, this feature records PPT with audio only. If you only need to record a presentation on Keynote without showing your face, you can use it to perform a smooth recording.

Step 1. Open the presentation in Keynote. Click Document in the upper right corner.
Step 2. Go to the Audio tab and click Record….
Step 3. This will launch a new, full-screen window. Click the red recording button. The timer counts down from 3 before the recording starts. You can use the right or left arrow key to go to the next or previous slide.
Step 4. Click the red button again to stop recording. You can click the play button to preview the recording.
- To re-record from a specific location: Drag the playback slider at the bottom of the screen to the location where you want to start recording, then click the red recording button. Select Record in the pop-up menu to start recording.
- Delete the entire recording: Click the trash can icon at the bottom right corner of the screen and then select Clear.
Step 5. Press the Esc key to exit the presenter's display.
Step 6. To export the Keynote presentation, go to File > Export To. Select a file format and click save. Type a filename, choose a location, and click Export.

How can I Trim a video on a Powerpoint slide via VBA?
I have several video files (~20). With each one I also have 3-5 discussion questions. In similar situations in the past I have used Zoom to record an .mp4 video of a 3-4 slide Powerpoint 2019 presentation--1 slide for the video, the rest for the questions. But I had to pause the Zoom recording, trim the video (set the starting and ending times) manually within Powerpoint, then restart the Zoom recording. This worked "fine." But Zoom produces gigantic video files compared to Powerpoint 2019.
AND, in the past, I have used VBA many times to automate Excel files, especially. When all else failed, I recorded a macro inside Excel and then edited the VBA code. It seems that one cannot record macros in Powerpoint 2019. Also, as I look at the online help for Powerpoint 2019, I cannot find any objects, properties or methods which seem to deal directly with video media (the MediaFormat object seems close, but no cigar)!
In a nutshell, I wish the user could choose which video he wants to view; and my VBA create the video media object on a slide, automatically set the starting and ending times, and add the discussions to a final slide or two!

Present content in Microsoft Teams meetings
When working remotely in Microsoft Teams, you can present content by sharing your screen, your entire desktop, a PowerPoint file, and more.
Start presenting content
Note: If you're using Teams on the web, you'll be able to share your screen only if you're using Google Chrome or the latest version of Microsoft Edge. Screen sharing isn't available for Linux users.

When you're done sharing, select Stop sharing in your meeting controls.
To turn off screensharing if your screen locks:
Turn the Turn off my camera and mic when my screen locks toggle on.
Restart Teams to activate this setting.
Presenter controls
While you're sharing content, use the controls in the presenter toolbar to keep your presentation engaging and running smoothly. The presenter toolbar is only visible to the person presenting.
To bring the presenter toolbar onscreen:
The toolbar will stay in place for a few seconds until you're done adjusting the controls. Then, it'll disappear from view.
Move the presenter toolbar
To keep the presenter toolbar from blocking important content on your screen, move it to any area on the screen you're sharing.
To move the presenter toolbar:
Drag it anywhere on your screen.
Release the drag handle when you've placed it in the right area.
Tip: You can also move the toolbar by clicking and holding any area on the toolbar that isn't interactive (e.g., in between presenter controls) and dragging it.
Control your camera and mic
Give and take control of shared content
Give control.
If you want another meeting participant to change a file, help you present, or demonstrate something, you can give control to that person. While someone has control, they can make selections, edits, and other modifications to the shared screen.
You'll both be in control of the sharing, and you can take back control anytime.
Caution: When you’re sharing an app, only give control to people you trust . People you give control can send commands that could affect your system or other apps. We've taken steps to prevent this but haven't tested every possible system customization.
Start sharing your screen.
Select the person you want to give control to. Teams will notify them that you’re sharing control.
Select Take back to take back control.
Take control
To take control while another person is sharing:
Select Request control . The person sharing can approve or deny your request.
Make selections, edits, and other modifications to the shared screen while you have control.
Select Release control to stop sharing control.
Sharing computer sound lets you stream audio from your computer to meeting participants through Teams. You can use it to play a video or audio clip as part of a presentation.

All sound from your computer, including notifications, will be audible in the meeting.
Optimize for video
Prevent choppiness or lag when you're sharing high-motion content by optimizing video.
To optimize video, select Optimize in your presenter toolbar.
Change your layout
When you're sharing content, you can choose from several different layouts to help make your presentation more engaging.
To change your layout while you're sharing your screen:
Turn your camera on.
Select the layout you want to use:
Content only : Participants will see the content you're sharing in the main Teams window. They'll still be able to see your video feed next to the content.
Standout : This produces an effect on your background that blocks it and helps you stand out in your video feed.
Side-by-side : This view will place you and another participant side-by-side in the meeting window. This helps draw focus to you and other participants who are speaking during the meeting.
Reporter : This layout isolates you from your video feed and places you in front of the content you're sharing, just like a reporter in front of a scene.

View participants
After you start presenting, a minimized view of the meeting window will appear next to your shared content.
Stop sharing
Select Stop sharing in the presenter toolbar to stop sharing your screen and return to the main Teams meeting window.
Share content on a Mac
If you're using a Mac, you'll need to grant permission to Teams to record your computer's screen before you can share.
You'll be prompted to grant permission the first time you try to share your screen. Select Open System Preferences from the prompt. If you miss the prompt, you can do this anytime by going to Apple Menu > System Settings > Privacy & Security .
Under Screen & System Audio Recording , make sure the toggle next to Microsoft Teams is turned on.
Go back to your meeting and try sharing your screen again.
Note: If you're using Teams on the web, make sure you've also granted screen recording permission to your browser.
Zoom in to shared content
To get a better look at shared content, click and drag it to see different areas. To zoom into or out of content someone's sharing during a meeting or call, use the buttons at the lower left of your meeting window: [+] to zoom in and [-] to zoom out. You can also try the following:
Pinch in or out on your trackpad.
Use Teams keyboard shortcuts .
Hold the Ctrl key and scroll with your mouse.
Note: Mac trackpads don't support zoom in meetings. If you're on a Mac, use one of the other options. If you're using Linux, giving and taking control of shared content isn't available at this time.
Open shared content in new window
Expand your view by opening shared content in a separate window during your Teams meetings.
To open shared content:
Join your meeting from Teams for desktop .
To minimize content, select X to close the window.
To share content from your mobile device:
Choose... | If you want to... |

| Present a PowerPoint file others can interact with. Choose the PowerPoint you want to share; when you select one, sharing will start automatically. |
| Take a photo to share or choose one from your gallery. Choose the photo you want to share and select when you're ready to share. |

Tap Stop presenting or Stop sharing when you're done.
Tip: To go forward and back in a PowerPoint presentation, swipe in the direction you'd like to go, or tap the forward and back buttons on the bottom of your screen.
Note: If your role changes from presenter to attendee during a meeting and you're presenting, screensharing will stop.
Zoom in to shared content
Want to get a better look at shared content?
Pinch in or out to zoom, and tap and drag to see different areas.
Note: Zoom isn't currently supported when you're sharing photos and videos.
Minimize shared content
You may want to minimize the content someone is sharing in order to better see the people in the meeting on your mobile device. Here's how:
Tap Minimize content from the menu
This will give you a better look at more of the people in the meeting. You'll still see the shared content on the lower portion of your screen.
Use your phone as a companion device in a meeting
Join a meeting on more than one device for more collaboration and content-sharing options.
If you're already in a meeting on your laptop, for example, you can add your phone as a companion device to present files, share live video, and much more. Any device with the Teams mobile app can be added as a companion device—just make sure the devices you're using are signed in to the same Teams account.
There's a lot you can do when you add a companion device to your meeting experience:
Use mobile video to show things that are out of view for remote participants.
Take a photo to share with everyone or pick one from your camera roll.
Use your phone to control a presentation.
Share your mobile screen.
If you can see it on your phone, you can share it in the meeting!

Add a companion device to a meeting
Open Teams on your mobile phone when you're already in a meeting on another device.
You'll see a message near the top of your screen informing you that you're currently in a meeting on another device, and asking if you want to join it on this one, too. Tap Join .
You'll then see two options: Add this device , and Transfer to this device . Tap Add this device .
If you join this way, we'll mute your companion device's mic and speaker to avoid causing an echo effect.
When you're ready to share something from the companion device, tap Start presenting at the bottom of the screen. On your other device, you'll be able to see what you're sharing, just like everyone else in the meeting.
When you're finished, tap Stop presenting , or simply hang up. Your other device will still be connected to the meeting.
