Class Central , a Tripadvisor for online education, has helped 60 million learners find their next course. We’ve been combing through online education for more than a decade to aggregate a catalog of over 150,000 online courses and 200,000 reviews written by our users. And we’re online learners ourselves: combined, the Class Central team has completed over 400 online courses, including online degrees.

I’ve (Archisha) been using Microsoft PowerPoint since my school days, not just for work but for fun as well!

I (Archisha) have taken over 50 online courses in various subjects. My experience as an online learner and teacher has given me some perspective on what to look for in an online course. I used my experience to evaluate each course in this list. Fabio also has experience as an online learner and as a tutor who revised the research and the latest version of this article.

Trying to find “the best” can be daunting, even for those of us who live and breathe online courses. Here’s how we approached this task.

First, we combed through Class Central’s Catalog and the internet to find a variety of free and paid open courses, some with certificates.

We extracted information from course syllabi and reviews, and compiled their ratings, leveraging the Class Central database with over 200 Microsoft PowerPoint courses and its thousands of course ratings and reviews written by our users as well as available course provider ratings. We watched some course videos to sample courses we hadn’t already taken.

Then, we defined the scope for these recommendations. A PowerPoint course can cover various topics, so we chose top courses from a range of sub-fields.

Ultimately, we used a combination of data and our own judgment to make these picks. We’re confident these recommendations will be a reliable way to learn PowerPoint’s main features.

Don’t Take Our Word For It

Hear from a few of our  57,000+ students....

"The course material is excellent, so good that a person who has just begun using PowerPoint will be able to catch up in no time. As a PE Analyst myself, I found a lot of shortcuts which I didn't know about earlier, and definitely see this course as a good value addition to even intermediate to advanced Powerpoint users . It's an amazing course and I'll highly recommend it to others ."

As an experienced finance professional, I believe that the Wall Street Oasis PowerPoint for Finance Course is a great resource for anyone looking to take their PowerPoint skills to the next level . There are so many courses for Excel, but PowerPoint is something I, and I think many others, learned more on the job or in school. This would have helped me immensely a few years ago! If you're a novice or intermediate PowerPoint user, you won't be disappointed with this course.

I found that the WSO PowerPoint for Finance Course to be really helpful with refining my fairly limited skills with the Microsoft application, it showed me many of the technical features of the software that are going to prepare me well for my internship this summer and give me a head start against my peers with this knowledge kept in mind, I am happy I was able to go through this course and come out with a much better understanding of what I thought was simply software for presentations.

This was by far my favorite course I have completed thus far. It didn’t involve any unnecessary humor and was straight to the point. As someone who is already proficient in PowerPoint, there was some concern that the course would be unnecessary, however, I certainly learned some of the more advanced topics that I had never tried before , such as “ninja lines”.

I really enjoyed this PPT Course. Having not taken a ton of Powerpoint courses in the past, this was a great learning experience. Overall it helped me develop a lot more confidence in my PowerPoint skills, both from a technical and general standpoint! My favorite section was Module 3: Objects and lines, the content and explanations were very helpful and especially coming from someone who doesn't have too many experiences with Powerpoint shortcuts, its slow yet comprehensive walkthrough really elevated my PowerPoint game.

In my own day-to-day, I did find the shortcuts to be quite helpful, especially after  setting up my own custom set via the toolbar  as covered and would recommend this course to those looking to  become more efficient  at this necessary tool.

The course definitely exposed me to a lot of features in Powerpoint I had never used before . I have never really used Powerpoint beyond an academic setting so most of the course exposed me to features I had never used before or knew existed. Like with the other courses, I liked that each lesson was concise and moved at a good pace and I really liked the exercises.

PowerPoint 101: The Ultimate Crash Course for Beginners

Are you new to PowerPoint and feeling overwhelmed by the idea of creating presentations? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. In this crash course, we’ll guide you through the basics of using PowerPoint and share some tips and tricks to help you create impressive presentations. So let’s dive in and discover how to do PowerPoint for beginners.

Getting Started with PowerPoint

Before we delve into the nitty-gritty of creating presentations, let’s first familiarize ourselves with the PowerPoint interface. When you launch PowerPoint, you’ll be greeted with a blank slide. This is your canvas where you’ll design your presentation.

The interface consists of several elements such as the Ribbon, Slides pane, Notes pane, and more. The Ribbon is located at the top of the window and houses all the tools and options needed to customize your slides. The Slides pane on the left allows you to navigate through your presentation and manage individual slides.

Creating Your First Slide

Now that you’re familiar with the basic elements of PowerPoint, it’s time to create your first slide. To add a new slide, click on the “New Slide” button in the Home tab of the Ribbon. A drop-down menu will appear with different slide layout options.

Choose a layout that best suits your content – title slide, content slide, or a combination of text and media. Once selected, a new slide will be added to your presentation.

To customize your slide’s content, simply click on the text boxes and start typing or paste your content directly from another source. You can also format text using various options available in the Font group within the Home tab.

Enhancing Your Presentation

Now that you have created slides with basic text content, it’s time to enhance them by adding visual elements such as images, charts, and multimedia.

To insert an image into your slide, navigate to the Insert tab in the Ribbon and click on the “Pictures” button. Choose the desired image from your computer’s files and it will be added to your slide. You can resize, crop, or apply various effects to the image using the options available in the Format tab.

If you want to present data or statistics, PowerPoint offers built-in chart and graph tools. Click on the “Chart” button in the Insert tab to choose from different chart types like bar, line, or pie chart. Enter your data into the Excel-like spreadsheet that appears and watch as PowerPoint generates a visually appealing chart.

To make your presentation more engaging, consider adding multimedia elements like audio or video. Navigate to the Insert tab and click on either “Audio” or “Video” depending on what you want to add. Select your file and customize its playback settings such as autoplay or looping.

Presenting Your Slides

Congratulations. You have now created an impressive presentation using PowerPoint. But how do you actually present it? PowerPoint offers several options for delivering your slides.

The most common method is presenting directly from PowerPoint using Slide Show mode. Simply click on the Slide Show tab in the Ribbon and choose either “From Beginning” to start from slide one or “From Current Slide” if you want to start from a specific slide.

Alternatively, you can save your presentation as a video file by clicking on File > Export > Create a Video. This is particularly useful if you want to share your presentation with others who may not have PowerPoint installed.

Another option is to use PowerPoint’s Presenter View if you have multiple monitors connected to your computer. This view allows you to see speaker notes, upcoming slides, and more while presenting.

With this crash course in PowerPoint for beginners, you should now feel confident enough to create stunning presentations that captivate your audience. Remember that practice makes perfect – experiment with different features and design options until you find a style that suits your needs. So go ahead, unleash your creativity, and make your ideas come to life with PowerPoint. Happy presenting.

  • For your home to do its job,
  • it must separate
  • Ground water
  • Uncomfortable temperatures
  • Bugs and pests
  • To understand how to most effectively keep these things out of our homes, lets take a look at some key components to high performance homes
  • Conditions needed for air leakage
  • Driving Forces (pressure) Across the Holes
  • Keeping this simple rule in mind, there are three major driving forces that need to be controlled
  • 200 cfm (on average)
  • 60 minute cycle
  • 12,000 cubic feet out
  • (from laundry room into dryer ? exhaust outdoors)
  • 12,000 cubic feet in
  • (from the holes with least resistance)
  • Carbon Monoxide poisoning is a leading cause of unintentional poisoning deaths in the U.S.
  • Unintentional CO exposure accounts for an estimated 15,000 emergency department visits and 500 unintentional deaths in the U.S. each year.
  • Health effects of CO exposure include
  • disorientation
  • unconsciousness
  • long-term neurological disabilities
  • cardio respiratory failure
  • Heres another example
  • 30 minute cycle
  • 45,000 cubic feet out
  • 45,000 cubic feet in
  • Your kitchen fans could be pulling dangerous fumes through your fireplace in the living room.
  • Heat can flow in and out of your home in several different ways
  • And Radiation
  • Conduction is where heat energy is transferred from molecule to molecule by direct contact.
  • Through convection, heat in a gas or liquid is transferred by the circulation of currents from one region to another.
  • Through radiation, electromagnetic rays are emitted from the surface of an object due to its higher temperature as compared to its surroundings.
  • Mean Radiant Temperature (MRT) dominates comfort.
  • (40 gt than ambient temp.)
  • While keeping the rain from leaking in your home is important, most moisture damage comes from air flow, because
  • ALL air carries moisture.
  • The dew point is the temperature at which air must be cooled for water vapor to condense into water.
  • Great question!
  • Holes and cracks allow inside warm air to reach an exterior sheathing surface.
  • If the outside surface is below the 45F dew point, moisture will condense out of the air.
  • Crawlspaces provide perfect opportunities for condensation
  • Driving forces push hot, humid air in this small basement to meet the cooler, conditioned spaces above. This image shows the damage that action at the surfaces can cause.
  • Infrared Camera
  • Standard Camera
  • If a system is installed that is too large for the home, it not only costs more up front, but also operates less efficiently, and can cause comfort and humidity problems.
  • Lets take a look at the efficiency of equipment as run-time is examined
  • If a cooling system is oversized
  • The inside temperature rises
  • The system switches on
  • The system works hard to blow huge volumes of cold air into the house
  • The temperature drops quickly
  • The system turns off
  • If the cooling system is properly sized
  • The system works moderately to lower the temperature over a longer run-time
  • The temperature drops steadily
