Fixed Crysis 2 Remastered showing only black screen for some users.
Fixed video playback in Out of Ore and Wayfinder.
Fixed Steam Workshop interface randomly not working in Trivia Tricks.
Fixed a memory leak when playing videos in VRchat using AVPro.
Crysis 2 Remastered and Crysis 3 Remastered no longer hangs when going in game when raytracing is enabled.
Mouse now works correctly in the main menu in Death Loop.
MechWarrior Online camera no longer behaves weirdly in communication menu on KDE Wayland.
Improved video playback in THE KING OF FIGHTERS XV.
Witcher 3 is able to switch between windowed and fullscreen correctly on XFCE again.
Improved cutscene FPS in Immortals of Aveum.
Improved video playback in Sea of Thieves and Romancelvania.
Fixed keyboard input registering with a delay and getting stuck in Wild Hearts.
Fixed Escape from Monkey Island getting minimized on a mouse click.
Implemented English speech recognition for Phasmophobia.
Fixed cutscenes freezing in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
Fixed audio controls and spatialization in VRChat with AVPro.
Updated file distribution method to save disk space.
Updated dxvk, dxvk-nvapi and vkd3d-proton to include the latest development work.

How to find changelogs or the latest commit for the Proton Experimental version currently released on Steam?

Today I got another update for Proton Experimental; neat!

I would like to know what changed. In the Properties > Updates tab for Proton Experimental, I can see Build ID 7698097. However, I would like to know to what changes this corresponds exactly, i.e. which commits apply to that version.

Is there a way to couple the build ID to the commit history/ a changelog?

Proton Experimental updates fix up Indiana Jones, Final Fantasy IV (3D Remake)

Valve has recently put up a fresh update for Proton Experimental, bringing more game compatibility and some fixes. The update was released on September 30th.

Here's what games are newly supported with Proton Experimental:

Pico Park Classic Edition.
Six Ages: Ride Like the Wind.
Darkstar One.
Indiana Jones and the Emperor Tomb.
Crazy Machines 3.

Plus some dedicated fixes landed including:

Fix Final Fantasy IV (3D Remake) having no audio.
Fix Return to Monkey Island not reacting to mouse clicks after a recent game update.

Surprisingly, Valve set Final Fantasy IV (3D Remake) as Steam Deck Verified in February and remained so up until the end of August, where they finally noticed some long-standing audio problems that required a really old version of Proton 4 but that still had some issues. At least now they've dropped the rating down to Playable. Nice to see it getting some attention here.

Text guide (Steam Deck):

Pick a game and head to the little COG icon on the right.
Click Properties, then Compatibility on the left.
Make sure the tickbox is done, then select it from the dropdown.

On a Linux desktop:

Right click a game, go to Properties.
Compatibility menu on the left.
Make sure the tickbox is done, then select Proton Experimental from the dropdown.

If you don't have Proton Experimental installed, it's available in your Steam Library the same as any other game and app.
