Similar to regular presentations, all accepted papers will be published in the Conference Proceeding with DOI and ISBN numbers. Virtual presenters will also be awarded a Certificate and their papers will be considered for publication opportunities in various indexed journals.

If you wish to attend as a Virtual presenter , you need to first submit your Abstract/Full via the online submission form. It will be evaluated by the Conference Scientific Committee. After receiving your paper Review Result, you need to register and pay the registration fee.

Publication opportunity

All accepted papers will be published in the conference Proceedings with  ISBN Number . All full papers sent for conference proceedings will be accepted through a double blind review process and will be published electronically in proceedings with a DOI number.

Call for Papers

The conference is seeking submissions related to the following conference topics: Social Sciences , Humanities , Language and Literature . Other related tracks and topics will also be considered. Submitted abstracts will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee. If abstract is accepted, author agrees to send full text paper , including results, tables, figures and references. If you cannot attend our conference but still wish to have your paper presented at the conference and published in the conference proceedings, we offer a virtual presentation option for your convenience. Virtual presenters are still required to submit a proposal/abstract or full paper, and one author must pay the registration fee. Your conference documents will be sent to your email after the conference.

Setting up for a virtual presentation

Virtual presentations are a great way to engage with the audience and present your findings in the event that you are not able to physically be present at the event. Such presentations utilize technological solutions to allow you to present live.

During a virtual presentation, a screen is split into two parts. The first part displays a live feed of you. The second part is a shared screen, which displays your slides (please see slides best practices earlier on the page).

To make sure your virtual presentation goes smoothly, you are required to:

  • Be online and available 15 minutes before the presentation ,
  • Have a reliable and fast internet connection,
  • Test your microphone and video camera,
  • Test your slides and make sure they are compatible with a Windows operating system,
  • Have a non-distracting environment around you during the presentation. The room you are using should be both quiet and the background used as plain as possible.

USPTO issuing electronic registration certificates

We transitioned to electronic registration certificates on May 24, 2022. 

Trademark registration certificates are no longer issued by printing the registration certificate on paper and mailing the certificate to the correspondence address of record. Instead, the registration is issued electronically by the USPTO under electronic signature of the Director and with a digital seal in gold, which serves to authenticate the registration and ensure the documentation wasn’t modified. Clicking on the gold seal will display the signature properties and signer’s certificate information. 

The USPTO uploads official registration certificates to the  Trademark Status and Document Retrieval (TSDR) system  and emails trademark owners and all email addresses of record a link to access their certificates upon issue. You can view, download, and print a complete copy of your registration certificate at any time and for no charge. 

Request a copy of the registration

While the USPTO no longer sends paper registration certificates upon issue, you can order printed copies. 

Presentation copy

Presentation are one-page paper copies of the registration that are suitable for display and framing. They feature a gold foil seal, identify the owners, display bibliographic data, and indicate the trademark and classes of goods or services, but do not list the goods and services. Presentation copies are not registration certificates or certified copies of the trademark registration. 

Some trademark owners are eligible for one free presentation copy. Eligibility depends on what date you filed your initial application and what date your trademark registration issued. If you filed your initial application before May 24, 2022, then you may be eligible. Anyone who filed an initial application on or after May 24, 2022 must purchase a copy. 

Presentation copies are only available for registrations that issued on or after August 13, 2013.

Use the Order Trademark Presentation Copy of Registration Certificate form in TEAS.

Certified copy

Trademark owners can still order a certified copy of their trademark registration for $15. Owners of registrations that issued before August 13, 2013 can only order a certified copy. This printed copy certifies the trademark’s status and title, and includes the signature of an authorized certifying officer. You can use this copy in connection with legal proceedings and some filings abroad. For more information about ordering certified copies of trademark registrations, visit the USPTO Certified Copy Center .

Why this change occurred 

Over the years, many of our customers indicated that they would prefer to receive their trademark registration certificate in a digital format rather than as a paper certificate. In response to this feedback, we began issuing trademark registrations via electronic certificates to anyone whose trademark registers. This change makes certificates more accessible and decreases the time for customers to receive them, while simultaneously furthering the USPTO's efforts to implement beginning-to-end electronic processing for trademark applications.

In a paper presentation, you will get the opportunity to present your research and ask for feedback on your work during a discussion.

To prepare for the paper presentation, you write a paper about your research. You can also use a paper you have written recently. When your paper is ready, prepare an interesting presentation in English to inform the audience about your research. The presentation should take no more than 10 minutes (try to prepare no more than 15 slides). Keep in mind that your audience did not read the paper. The paper (and the presentation) addresses one or more central aspects of the research project. Which aspects are fit for inclusion depends on the content and nature of your research. Examples include an elaborate theoretical framework that operationalizes the project's central research questions, the experimental set-up and results of an empirical study, the design of a learning environment, teacher training, or assessment instrument, and so on.

The presentation is followed by 20 minutes of discussion, which is started by the appointed discussants. Inform your discussants about the goals of your presentation and write down two questions that can help focus the discussion. The audience can also give feedback on your presentation based on the presentation feedback form. This form may also help you to prepare your presentation.

All presenters of a paper presentation will be appointed junior discussant at one of the other paper presentations. Are you presenting a paper? Prepare to be a discussant for one of your peers!

We will inform you about your discussants and your own role as a discussant in March.

Paper presentation total duration: 30 minutes

Presentation: 10 minutes

Discussants: 5 minutes for each discussant

Group discussion: 10 minutes

There will be 2 paper presentations in a session of 1 hour.

Send in your paper and abstract before 11 February, using the submission form .

If you wish to present a paper at the NSS, please send your paper (APA style; maximum 6000 words, including references in Word or PDF format) and a short abstract (max. 300 words). We will use your abstract on this website to inform the National Spring School-attendants about your presentation.

Use the submission form to enclose the document. Name your document "Last name"_"presentation type", like "VanDijk_Paper.pdf".

Prepare a presentation in PowerPoint. Please check it on another computer to be sure everything works and bring the presentation on a USB memory stick to the Spring School.

AGU23 Technology Guide

Hybrid sessions and select events at AGU23 will make use of Zoom Webinar or Meeting. In joining these, all attendees will be offered the option of using a web browser rather than the Zoom app. Most major participant functions are supported in the browser, including sharing screens, chat and breakout rooms. Online Presentation Platform

  • This platform will be used by registered attendees to view the meeting schedule, build a custom schedule, view interactive posters, and navigate the onsite meeting.
  • Sessions will be uploaded here for on-demand viewing within 72 hours after the session ends, and will be available through March 2024.
  • Registered attendees will be able to access the meeting app in early December.

Presenter Upload Site

  • The presenter upload site will be used to upload pre-recorded presentations for online presentations or slide presentations for in-person presenters.
  • The deadline to upload slides is 8 December at 17:00 EST (UTC -5) . If you miss the deadline and will be in-person, you must visit the onsite Speaker Ready Room at least 24 hours or as soon as possible before your session to upload your slides. Please note, lines may be extremely long on Monday morning before the first 8:30AM oral session please allow ample time to register and visit the speaker ready room if needed.

Poster Requirements and Best Practices

  • Maximum size: 1.8 meters W x 1.2 meters H (6 feet W x 4 feet H)
  • Allow for a 2.54-centimeter (1-inch) border

Font Requirements

  • Paragraph/captions — 24 points (0.9 centimeters high) Minimum
  • Headers — 36 points (1.2 centimeters high) Minimum
  • Use different colors and textures/symbols for each line or bar.
  • Use a serif font (e.g., Times) for main text.
  • Use a non-serif font (e.g., Arial or Helvetica) for headers and labels. 

Important details

  • Do not laminate your poster so that it can be recycled. 
  • Put the title and number of your paper at the top of the poster board.
  • Highlight authors’ names and contact information
  • Make sure diagrams or charts can be read from 2 meters away.

Best Practices

  • Organize the poster so it is clear, orderly and self-explanatory. 
  • Group similar ideas together.
  • Label elements as I, II, III; or 1, 2, 3; or A, B, C. 
  • Avoid clutter (e.g. too much text).
  • Include key details such as background, results, and conclusion.

Speaker Ready Room

If you have not uploaded your slides online, in-person oral session presenters may check in at the on-site Speaker Ready Room at least 24 hours before their presentation, even if they have uploaded their presentation slides. If you cannot check in at the Speaker Ready Room 24 hours before your session, please go to the Speaker Ready Room as early as possible before the start of your session.

What to do in the speaker ready room

When reviewing your slides in the Speaker Ready Room, make sure all fonts appear as expected and all audio/video clips are working properly. You may edit your presentation slides at this time if needed. When you have finished reviewing your slides, the audiovisual staff will queue them for use in the oral session room.

NOTE: Do not edit your slides less than four hours prior to your session. The A/V staff cannot guarantee that your updated slides will be in the session room at the time of your presentation.

We recommend that you bring at least two additional digital copies of your presentation slides to the meeting in case there is an issue with your uploaded file. If you are unable to visit the Speaker Ready Room 24 hours before your session, please go to the Speaker Ready Room as early as possible before the start of your session. Presentation media will be returned to the speaker.

You must provide identification in order to submit and access your presentation in the Speaker Ready Room. USB ports and CD/DVD drives on the computers are disabled so no presentations can be copied; external storage devices will not function on the meeting room computers. Cameras and video equipment are not permitted in the Speaker Ready Room. If you have any questions regarding the specifications for presentations, please email our A/V partner, Projection .
