PowerPoint File Size Restrictions
Does anyone know if there is a maximum number of slides or file size for a single PowerPoint file? I'm concerned that If I create too many slides the file will no longer work. Currently I have a count of 150 with a file size of 8.8 MB.
Thank you for your thoughts.

To answer the question with regards to file sizes restriction is no, however if you have big size of file there is a possibility of corruption. It's better to compress the file specially photos to avoid corruptions. we suggest to check the content of this link .
Note: It is recommend you to use pictures in .jpg, .gif format rather than .bmp format, because images in .bmp format are usually very huge in size. In some cases, re-saving a PowerPoint file with a new name can reduce the file size by up to 50%.

What is the optimal/maximum file size for a Powerpoint that a large team is collaborating on, stored in Sharepoint?
We have a large team of 30-40 people that will be editing a shared Powerpoint presentation using a Sharepoint/Microsoft 365 - the file size is edging to 1GB. It is incredibly laggy for some - and some say they have issues editing within the Powerpoint/Sharepoint web client, and it takes too long to load via their desktop app. Is there an official limit or optimal file size guidance for collaboration this way?

SharePoint uses PowerPoint for the Web, which has severe file size limitations, given that 1Gb is next to nothing in a presentation. Here is the Microsoft page on this subject: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/how-certain-features-behave-in-web-based-powerpoint-a931f0c8-1305-4428-8f7c-9cfa00ef28c5

PowerPoint for the web can open files up to 2 gigabytes (GB) in size.
Interesting that PPWeb can technically open up a 2GB file, but we are experiencing slow load times at a 1GB file. I wasn't sure based on reading the article - but if folks try to edit the file via Desktop App; in addition to having better editing ability, would it potentially run faster?
That depends on what part of the workflow is causing the slowdown, so it's easier to just try editing in the desktop version and see if that brings an improvement.
